Please put the title of your story, your last name, and the word count in the subject line of your email
We've all heard the theories about what is supposed to happen in 2012. But if disaster strikes and there are survivors, what will happen to them in 2013? We're looking for post-apocalyptic stories (science fiction/fantasy/horror) that take place in 2013 or later, based on a theory (any theory) of cataclysmic changes or destruction that occur in 2012. How will humans live after whatever happens? How will the world be different? What happens when there is life AFTER the end of the world? While zombie stories will be considered, they must be truly unique and wonderfully imaginative to be accepted into this collection.
We prefer stories written in third person, but will consider stories written in first person.
We will consider stories approximately 500 words - 20,000 words. We're leaving such a wide open word range to encourage writers to write a story until it is finished without padding your submissions with irrelevant details or chopping out important information to stay below a word maximum.
Payment is 1/4¢ per word upon publication, no contributor's copy. Author's are given the option of purchasing discounted copies. Please, no multiple submissions, simultaneous submissions, or reprints.
DEADLINE: Open until filled. We will accept/reject submissions on a first come, first serve basis. We will set a deadline when the anthology is approximately 3/4 of the way full. Expected response time is under one month. Please don't query about the status of your submission until 30 days have passed.
