     Sam Battrick was driven out of his homeland of New Zealand by angry hobbits, washed up on the shores of the Oregon coast and was taken in by friendly locals. Flora Winters - "Those Left Behind"
     Flora Winters enjoyed being grounded to her room as a child because it gave her time to read and write undisturbed. Nowadays, she spends much of her time in her dorm room at Mills College with a sign taped to the door stating: "Do not thou meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with ketchup." Whether or not she actually keeps a pet dragon to eat trespassers is unknown, but that might explain the weird noises in the middle of the night.

D. Nathan Hilliard - "The World in Strips"
     D. Nathan Hilliard lives in Spring, Texas, with his veterinarian wife, two children, and two cats. He draws inspiration for a childhool living small Texas towns, accented by teen years spent in western New Mexico. He has experienced life through a diverse collection of jobs ranging from meter reading and being an assistant manager at a convenience store, to working at cotton gins, window factories, and uranium mines. After coming down with Charcot Marit Tooth (CMT) at the turn of the century, Mr. Hilliard now happily settles for tending house, raising his kids, and exploring the field of writing.

Kassi Shimek - "Last Vacation"
     Kassi Shimek is a high school student from Crawford High School in Crawford, Nebraska. She is in volleyball, swimming, Student Council and National Honor Society. she plans to attend South Dakota School of Mines or the University of Wyoming and plans to study chemical engineering or pathology.

Christopher Jacobsmeyer - "Black Gold"
     Christopher Jacobsmeyer is a self-styled fantasy author dabbling in the realms of sci-fi and horror. His tolerant wife and headstrong daughters humor him as long as it suits their needs. If that weren't enough, a trio of cats keeps him in check with their whispered designs of conquest at night.

Jacob Henry Orloff - "The Occurrence Out At Sea"
     Jacob Henry Orloff has been writing horror fiction throughout several centuries in various past lives. In his current incarnation, he has been writing for nearly three years and is currently attending school as an English major.

Alva J. Roberts - "Blackbeard's Ragnarok"

     Scott Harper words in the waste management business, also referred to as law enforcement. He has had stories published in a number of small press venues such as A Thousand Faces, Afterburn SF, Alienskin, and Down in the Cellar. His story "Fresh Juice" will be published later this year in Space and Time Magazine. He lives with his wife, son, and two dogs in California.

John McCuaig - "The Beastie of Loch Dhu"
     John is a 41 year old Engineering Manager, born in Glasgow Scotland but is now living in London England. He has over a dozen short horror stories published and his first novel, The Church, will be released in early 2010.

     Mike Chinn has had short stories published in FINAL SHADOWS, THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF DRACULA, PHANTOMS OF VENICE, THE BLACK BOOK OF HORROR and BIRMINGHAM NOIR. His collection of pulp adventure stories, THE PALADIN MANDATES, was published by Alchemy Press in 1998, and he edited a sword & sorcery anthology, SWORDS AGAINST THE MILLENNIUM for the same imprint in 2001. An occasional scripter of comics, his second guide on writing for the medium – CREATE YOUR OWN GRAPHIC NOVEL – was published simultaneously by Barrons Educational in the USA, and Ilex in the UK.
